Here is an example of how quickly I can draw, in approximately 4 minutes...give or take. :)
In the past when working on creative concepts, clients have been very satisfied with how I can capture a scene with a few squiggly lines in a very short period of time.
Here is a selection of my illustration styles.
I enjoy creating crisp bold vector illustrations. And I very much enjoy illustration projects that involve characters.
Having the opportunity to inject a bit of my humour in to an illustration is a bonus too.
STORYBOARDS & SCAMPS
The fact that I can draw storyboards and scamps very quickly has proved to be invaluable when working within design and marketing teams on several multi-million pound advertising campaigns. I am experienced in presenting ideas internally and externally to marketing directors, business managers and creative managers.
Showcasing my talent for drawing quickly, I collaborated with the National Lottery social team to produce a series of recorded hand drawn illustrations posted across both Twitter and Facebook throughout the Mega Friday event week.
To celebrate the EuroMillions Mega Friday July prize of a trip of a lifetime to Australia, each illustration was Australian themed.
For example, a quick teaser video would appear on the TNL twitter feed from which viewers could see my drawing start to form. If the viewers 'tweeted' correctly what the drawing was, they would be entered in to that days prize draw.
The next day, the full length video revealing the full illustration, would then be posted once the prize draw had closed.
The competition received a lot of engagement and was a success.
A RECORD BREAKING YEAR
To celebrate Camelot UK Lotteries record sales for 2015/16, I was commissioned by Camelot’s publicity team to produce a series of infographics that illustrated each success across digital, retail and good causes. These infographics were on display at the record sales announcement event and social media.
I illustrated a series promotional graphics for a wide range of National Lottery Instant Win Games (think online scratchcards).
The graphics appeared on the website, emails and online promo spots. It was great fun to work on such a wide range of game themes, but also to work with well known brands such as Cluedo and Scrabble.
Zakat Heroes www.zakatheroes.com is a voluntary programme designed to increase the community’s engagement with the pillar of Zakat. The programme is primarily aimed at muslims of 16-24 years old but anyone can join!
In collaboration once again with One Agency http://www.onetogether.co.uk/, I storyboarded and provided the illustrations for this animation.
My love of super hero comics, was of great influence on this project.
The Rucksack Challenge
In collaboration with One Agency http://www.onetogether.co.uk/, I provided illustrations to support Muslim Aid's campaign to donate rucksacks with essentials for the homeless over the winter period.
This collection of illustrations were displayed on social media, by each of the projects that had been funded by The National Lottery in 2015.
TNL #RIORELAY TWEET
I contributed my illustration skills to this National Lottery Twitter competition. And as you can see, we also had the ad on display live in Piccadilly Circus. Needless to say, the competition generated a lot of interest :-)
I enjoy conceptualizing creative for social media. My illustration skills are a useful tool in the execution of engaging social posts.
My 'early bird' concept and illustration for the biggest Lotto
jackpot ever, received over 281 Likes and 70 Shares on Facebook.
From my involvement in the design development of the current National Lottery website, I have gained an understanding of UX, as I was required to conceptualize and design both icons and illustrative content. During this process, I learned how best to engage the website user and enrich their online experience.
This was a really really fun project to work on. The animation illustrates how a purchase of a ticket from The National Lottery funds National Lottery projects that build communities, deliver gold medals, preserve national treasures and a whole heap more.
Once supplied with the script, I illustrated, storyboarded and then produced the animation in both Adobe Flash and After Effects.
With the launch of The National Lottery new responsive website, digital instant win games 'Instants' (previously desktop only), could now be played on tablet & mobile. This meant that these games could now be played wherever you are on your mobile device, as long as you had 3G or wi-fi reception. It might be a little difficult on top of Mount Everest. ;-)
The lighthearted tone of the campaign was right up my street.
I art directed the campaign for the new Monopoly scratchcard from The National Lottery. Which at the time had a record scratchcard top prize of £1 million.
The campaign spanned outdoor, digital, print, direct mail and 48,000 retail stores.
I was commissioned to produce several graphics for Ernst & Young, illustrating their future business goals.
A nice little job came my way to illustrate two pieces of POS for Instants scratchcards.
The POS (called a flash), clips on to the TNL Instants scratchcard dispenser on top of the retail store counter. This is to help push a customer in to making an impulse purchase.
